Caught in the current
in the center of the flood
in the hole in the sky
mountains and molehills
have no bearing on the mud
I could see into the eye

Implications visceral
twisting in the mess
I thought my heart would burst
with each successive wave
just deepening the curse
dredging up debris
from the bottom of the worst
And I lost my way

The cold wind whistling through
gaps in our shitty room
sang the doom song of time
laughter no longer penetrated
through the gloom
with no rhyme or reason why

Desperate and powerless
I let myself slip down into a deeper pit
lifelong weakness in control
couldn't deal with it
listing in the blue and desolate
And I lost my way

Self indulgent rantings
of an aging Hedonite
maudlin poesy aside
I had to put the little maniac to bed
up til now I never tried

It'd be quite easy to remain insane
rabid sad and tiresome old shit talking fool
tackling the strawmen
using strictly broken tools
it's been long enough floating here
just listing in the blue
So I find my way
